Missouri Personal Property / Real Estate Taxes Due

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Missouri County collectors are reminding you of deadlines and payment information for personal property and property taxes.

Most of the personal property and property tax bills were mailed in October. Payments are due by December 31st. The Greene County Collector’s Office will operate at limited hours on New Years Eve. Many others can remain closed for the holidays.

The Collector’s Offices offer the following helpful tips for the process:

1. If you have not received an invoice or have misplaced your invoice, please visit your county collector’s website and print one from there. If you can’t find one, call your county tax collector.

2. Payments must be postmarked in the United States or be made through our website by December 31st.

3. To save taxpayer money, counties put as many matching returns as possible in the same envelopes. For example, personal property and real estate statements can be in the same envelope. They can sometimes stick together like two new $ 20 bills.

4. The best way to pay by far is online or at your county collector’s website. No buffer. No lines. No waiting for a receipt to arrive in the mail.
