Mendota Journalist | LaSalle County property taxes due July 1 and September 1

OTTAWA – LaSalle County Treasurer James L. Spelich has sent 66,124 property tax bills to county residents.

The first installment of property taxes is due Thursday, July 1. The second installment is due Wednesday, September 1.

Three convenient payment options are:

  • Credit card using MasterCard, Discover, Visa or American Express. Simple instructions are included with the tax bill for paying on the Internet. Credit card payments can also be made at the Treasurer’s Office (a convenience fee of approximately 2.5% is charged by credit card processors) or by phone at 1-833-975-2500. If you pay by phone, have your parcel number ready.
  • Automatic withdrawal from a checking or savings account. To register for this service, go online to www.lasallecountytreasurer.com. There is a $1.50 charge per package for this service. Taxes will be collected the day before the tax due dates.
  • Check payable to the LaSalle County tax collector at local financial institutions. Also, the Treasurer’s Office via drive-thru drop box in the car park is on East Etna Road (24 hours), delivered inside during office hours (patience required, can be long queues) and by mail to the Treasurer’s Office, 707 E. Etna Road, PO Box 1560, Ottawa, IL 61350. If payment is made at the Treasurer’s Office, a mask must be worn and a temperature check will be conducted.
